Youth Ministry

Training young people in God's word is essential for them to know God and live for Him. At Maranatha Baptist Church we take very seriously the responsibility to help parents instruct and train their teens according to God's word. We have several ministries through which we attempt to help parents fulfill this Biblical obligation. Below you will find the priorities and goals of our youth group as well as a few links where you can learn more about each of these teen ministry areas.

Goals for the Maranatha Baptist Church Youth Group

Based upon Maranatha Baptist Church’s Mission Statement

“That we should be to the praise of God’s glory, by making and maturing believers, to be changed into the image of Christ, and to do so in the spirit of compassion and servant-heartedness”

#1 - To Bring Glory to God

1 Corinthians 10:31 “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

“That we should be to the praise of God’s glory…”

#2 – To Be Saved

John 3:3 - Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

John 5:24 – “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

“by making believers…”

#3 - To Know and Obey God’s Word

2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

“by maturing believers…”

#4 - To Be Like Christ

Romans 8:29 “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.”

“to be changed into the image of Christ…”

#5 - To Have a Spiritually Productive Life

John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

#6 - To Avoid the Path of Destruction

Pro 14:12 - “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”

Matthew 7:13-14 - "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

#7 - To Have Good, Clean Fun

1 Corinthians 10:31 “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
